Origin of M.B.O.A

In the year  1926 Myanmar Era, Reverend Syadaw U Pawara and U Kumara first founded BBMS ( Burma Buddhist Mission School ) with 21 students.
          On  June, 1927 Myanmar era, the name was changed to BBOA ( Burma Buddhist Orphanage Association ). The association was sponsored by Sayadaw U Pawara, other  Sayadaws and residents of Mandalay, totaling 11 persons. On the first general meeting, they decided to give free tuition allowance to the orphans.
          At the time when colonial education was revolted and national education was given priority by the patriots, this association was first established.
          During these periods, the students from thisassociation could compete their education with the students from the famous schools such as ST. Peter’s High School  and Lafon Memorial School.

 

The responsibility being rendered to

Primarily, the abbot of the Nga Soe Monastery Sayadaw U Pawara first founded this association and he passed away in 5 May 1985 at the age of 90. After his passing away, the responsibility was being rendered to Sayadaw U Sadimar ( Agga  Mahar That Dhamma Zaw Tika Daza) who came and resided at monastery and taught the students some lessons.

Present situation

At present, there are altogether 173 students among these, some study High School Education, some study Basic Education and some professional studies. The nationalities of the students are, Barmar, Chin, Shan, Pa-Oh, Danu, lishaw, Palaung, Wa and Naga.
